Class description

This is a Wild Rice Retreat–hosted retreat, part of our thoughtfully curated programming. We proudly partner with skilled retreat leaders to bring guided experiences to our resort—designed to inspire, nourish, and support personal growth in alignment with our mission.

The Art of Wintering Well—a retreat designed to help you slow down, listen inward, and realign with what truly matters. Through a blend of yoga, breathwork, guided meditation, and reflective journaling, you’ll be supported in reconnecting to your inner landscape and cultivating a deeper sense of clarity, purpose, and ease.

This experience goes beyond rest. It’s an invitation to recalibrate your energy, nourish your body, and rekindle your inner vitality. Together, we’ll explore how mindful practices, creative expression, and conscious rest can support resilience, balance your nervous system, and bring your daily life into closer alignment with your values.

Throughout the weekend, you’ll be held in a thoughtfully curated environment that encourages both restoration and connection—to yourself, to others, and to the natural world. Your stay includes daily nourishing meals, sauna rituals, a personalized nutrition consultation, creative practices, deep self-care and an evening fire ceremony to ground and integrate your experience. An optional outdoor adventure offers space to reconnect with nature, and massage therapy is available for those seeking additional support.

You’ll leave with a clear set of practices and a renewed sense of alignment—equipped to support your well-being long after the retreat ends.

Guests should bring a journal.  Be sure to dress for indoor and outdoor adventure – a swimsuit (for the sauna), yoga clothes and loose clothing and winter clothing and boots are recommended.

biography

As the Founder of Wild Rice Retreat, Heidi Zimmer is committed to a holistic and integrative experience allowing each guest to ground themselves in nature, tap into their creative spirit and connect to their body and breath’s inner wisdom and strength. She creates intentional, safe spaces for people to show up and be met wherever they are.  For some that means time to explore and create; for others it means to move, grieve, let go; and others to simply rest, celebrate, and find joy.

Heidi is also an accomplished real estate developer and leader in business.  She weaves tools for resilience, overcoming obstacles, facing uncertainty as opportunity, personal and professional development and leadership coaching into her teachings.   Heidi’s open-heart, authentic nature, and joy-fueled approach is accessible and approachable to all levels of yoga and life experience.
