Class description

Learn the Art of Wintering Well through guided practices including restorative yoga, hatha yoga, journaling exercises and guided meditations. On retreat you will develop the skills and tools to overcome obstacles, build healthy immunity through nutrition, and explore how essential oils, a creative practice, and yoga can support your health and well-being. The weekend will include an outdoor adventure, daily delicious nourishing meals and sauna rituals, and an evening fire ceremony.

Retreat guests will take away tools for calming the nervous system and overcoming fear, anxiety and the seasonal blues. Guests will learn how to connect more deeply and become more in tune with their bodies to tap into its inner wisdom; remove obstacles and discover inner strength, courage and creativity; and guests will feel the true benefits of the art form of intentional rest to support their overall health.

Guests should bring a journal and writing implement, an eye pillow, a yoga mat, and a beginners watercolor kit found at any craft supply store. Be sure to dress for indoor and outdoor adventure – a swimsuit (for the sauna), yoga clothes and loose clothing and winter clothing and boots are recommended.

As the Founder of Wild Rice Retreat, Heidi is committed to a holistic and integrative experience allowing each guest to ground themselves in nature, tap into their creative spirit and connect to their body and breath’s inner wisdom and strength. She creates intentional, safe spaces for people to show up and be met wherever they are. For some that means time to explore and create; for others it means to move, grieve, let go; and others to simple rest, celebrate, and find joy.

As an accomplished compassionate leader, Heidi also provides wisdom and guidance for gathering courage, tools for moving through transitions with grace, and building resilience. Heidi’s open-hearted and joyful approach to yoga and personal development is accessible and approachable.

Certification

Trained by Tanya Boigenzahn at Devanadi School of Yoga in Minneapolis, MN. Heidi has been practicing and studying yoga for over 20 years and is 200hr RYT Certified through Yoga Alliance.
