Class description

Fall is a time of transitions and letting go. A time for shedding the old and clearing the way for new beginnings.

Enjoy 4 days in Northern Wisconsin on Lake Superior, to enjoy a quiet getaway with morning yoga and afternoon hikes and restorative/yin practice in the evening.

Enjoy locally sourced organic food, prepared on site. Vegan/Vegetarian/Gluten free and Omnivore options will be offered.

Yoga, nature and relaxation will be the focus of this retreat. Hikes in nature and walks to town and a ferry ride to the Apostle Islands are daytime options. Afternoon and/or evening yoga and fireside gatherings will end each of our days.

Relax and enjoy your alone time in comfort and luxury. Each unit is thoughtfully designed to offer you privacy within community. Together or apart, we are one.

biography

Cara Chang Mutert, E-RYT500 is a senior yoga instructor and owner/director of The Yoga Lounge in Woodstock, IL, which she founded 18 years ago. Cara’s teaching style is Iyengar alignment based, gentle, meditative, flowing and therapeutic in nature. She has studied yoga for nearly 30 years and has more than 10,000 hours of teaching experience and 1000 hours of training. She leads yoga teacher trainings and international yoga retreats and has served on the faculty of McHenry County College since 2007, creating and instructing the college's first credited Yoga courses. She has studied extensively with her Master teachers, Gabriel Halpern of Yoga Circle, Chicago and Tias Little, Prajna Yoga in Santa Fe, and earned her 500-hour advanced certification from Prairie Yoga and her 200-hr. certification through the Temple of Kriya Yoga, Chicago.

Please bring your yoga mats and any props you feel are necessary for your practice.  Wild Rice Retreat offers mats, blankets, blocks and straps if you prefer not to bring your own.
