Class description

Escape to the beautiful shores of Lake Superior, in Bayfield Wisconsin, for a 4-day introduction to silence retreat.

This retreat is ideal for anyone craving a break from the distractions of the world, and desiring a deeper connection with themselves.

This is a wonderful introduction to silent retreating, as it is designed to be supportive and more flexible in its structure. Short, daily meditations, breathwork and other supportive practices are designed with the first-time silent retreater in mind.

Note: this is not a meditation retreat, but a retreat that offers meditation as a centering practice.

biography

Allison Rykken, (she/her): Spiritual Director (MAL), Licensed Social Worker, Community Care Steward, and most importantly, Mom to two wild ones.

I’m here to hold sacred space for your seeking about Life, Spirit, and Purpose through individual spiritual direction, retreats, and community care.

I am a licensed social worker and spiritual director. I am finishing up my Masters in Leadership and Spiritual Direction from United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities – an ecumenical seminary rooted in inter-religious discipline, progressive theological thought, and dismantling systems of oppression.

I am an ally to the LGBTQ communities, and to the AA and recovering communities. I am committed to anti-racist work, both in my life and in how I raise my children.

Values:

Above all, I value human sovereignty. We are who we are. We love who we love. It is an inherent right for all beings to be free in their body, mind, identity, expression, and spirit. I stand for safe and sacred spaces for all people.

I value accessibility, equity and community care. I am committed to continued self-growth as I live and learn more each year.

I value curiosity as the antidote to judgement and am in continual practice with this in my work and life.

Vision:

To restore heart in the world through every human knowing their value, worth and purpose.

Mission:

To create more spaces in which Spirit is invited to support us in our journey through life.

I would be honored to walk with you in your spiritual journey. To assess if we would be a good fit, contact me to schedule a free meet and greet session.
