THE INVITATION
True recovery isn't about pretending the landscape didn't burn. It is about discovering what survives the fire.
When a life experiences a total fire—a catastrophic, totalizing disruption—the old structures are leveled. The canopy that once provided familiar shelter is stripped away, leaving a stark, quiet, and unrecognizable landscape. In the aftermath of a difficult six-year cycle, survival mode can make you feel like a shell of your former self, living on scorched earth.
But a total fire holds a fierce, hidden paradox: it forces the extraction of life that could never have opened under ordinary conditions.
"Reclaiming Ground" is a structured, trauma-informed four-day sanctuary designed specifically for women ready to step out of survival mode, honor the profound grief of what was lost, identify the unstoppable post-traumatic growth that is already quietly taking root, and clear the debris to move forward unburdened and free.

THE SYMBOLIC TOPOGRAPHY & RETREAT FOUNDATIONS
Our four-day immersion is patterned after the incredible process of ecological succession—observing how a forest regenerates from the ashes, emerging more resilient and entirely transformed.
- Scorched Earth: Bearing Witness to the Landscape
Construction begins with contemplation. Amidst the stillness of Lake Superior, we invite the nervous system to find rest. Within this trauma-informed sanctuary, we hold space to honor the significant shifts of the past six years, releasing the taxing need to "repair" or "optimize" your experience.
- Focus: Somatic anchoring, assessing the inner terrain, and calming a vigilant spirit.
- Serotiny: The Sacred Extraction of Seeds
Just as certain pine cones remain sealed until the highest heat melts their stubborn resin, our most profound internal shifts often require the intensity of the fire to bloom. We will gently examine the landscape of what you have endured to identify and claim the sovereign boundaries and hidden resilience that could only have been forged within such heat.
- Focus: Reconstructing your narrative, establishing soulful boundaries, and integrating newfound strengths.
III. The Fireweed Phenomenon: Welcoming the New Growth
Fireweed is the first sign of life to pierce the blackened soil, its seeds having waited years for the canopy to open. Together, we will locate the dormant aspects of your self, your delight, and your yearnings that are finally finding the light and space required to bloom.
- Focus: Re-centering the Essential Self, drafting new narratives, and soulful reclamation.
- The Root of Resilience: Cultivating a Sovereign Life
Even when the surface is swept clean, ancient root systems remain steadfast, ready to send up new life from the depths. We conclude by creating enduring practices to sustain these roots, ensuring you depart anchored in your strength and rising from the remnants.
- Focus: Weaving the experience forward, crafting sustainable rhythms, and lasting emotional health.
