Cancellation Policy

Policy of Cancellation by Guests

Upon registration, a $250 deposit of the retreat price will be paid by the guest. Final payment for the total retreat tuition as well as lodging and meals is due 60 days prior to the retreat start date.

If you need to cancel attendance at a retreat, please choose one of the following options:

  • Select another retreat schedule within 365 days of the original retreat start date to which we will transfer registration. At this time, transfers may not be made in another person’s name.

  • Opt to have your deposit refunded, provided the cancellation occurs more than 60 days prior to the start of the retreat, minus a $100 cancellation fee. If cancellation occurs within the 60 days leading up to the start of the retreat, no refunds of any amount will be provided other than a transfer as outlined above.

In order to respect the time and effort of both the instructors and other guests, all registrants are expected to arrive on time and fully participate in all aspects of a retreat. Wild Rice Retreat reserves the right to deny adjustments to pricing based on late arrival or early departure by any guest.

Classroom and studio spaces are handicap accessible, though interim housing may not be. If you have physical impairments and wish to discuss the accessibility of lodging and/or classroom/retreat spaces, please call us at (715) 779-0178.

Policy of Cancellation by Wild Rice Retreat

Wild Rice Retreat may choose to cancel a retreat if the minimum number of guests is not met at least 45 days prior to the retreat start. Should this cancellation occur, guests will be notified and given the option of a transfer (outlined above) or to receive a full refund. If you are purchasing airfare as part of your transportation plan, it is recommended that you investigate travel insurance as Wild Rice Retreat will not provide reimbursement for guest travel expenses.

Smoking

Smoking at Wild Rice Retreat is only permitted outside and more than 100 feet from any entrance, exit, or outdoor classroom area.

Accommodations

While Wild Rice Retreat's retreat housing is developed and built (expected completion 2020), guests lodging is provided through Wild Rice Retreat at nearby lodging partner, Woodside Cottages. Unless otherwise noted, all rates listed on the website reflect a person/per night rate.

  • Accommodations will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. If a guest's first choice is unavailable, guests will be placed in the next available option.

  • Shared rooms offer each guest their own bed. Shared rooms may accommodate up to four guests.

  • Guests wishing to book shared accommodations with other guests attending the same retreat or for significant others sharing lodging should call Wild Rice Retreat at (715) 779-0178 to make requests for pairings known. Every effort will be made to accommodate sharing requests.

  • Spouses or guests may accompany retreat guests with advanced notice and pending available and appropriate room assignments. Due to the format of most retreats, outside guests will be responsible for their own meals.

  • Accommodations are offered with a 4 pm check-in and 10 am check-out.

  • Additional nights may be added by the guests via a phone call to Wild Rice Retreat and may require the changing of rooms.

  • Accommodations are a two-minute drive from Wild Rice Retreat. Accommodations are accessible via a relatively flat walking trail along Lake Superior of approximately one mile, one way.

  • If retreat guests wish to reserve their own lodging, they may do so. All transportation arrangements to/from airports and once in Bayfield are then the responsibility of the guest.
